Job Shadow

What does PoWeR stand for?  

• This is a term that we use with students to identify activities or themes that contribute to a student’s Postsecondary & Workforce Readiness

BU will be hosting a PoWeR week for all students to explore careers.

• Understand how classes are relevant to careers
• Individual career exploration
• Hands on experience through a job shadow

BU students will be securing their own job shadow

• Students have received an introduction about this project in Advisory during the month of December.
• At home, please encourage your students to TALK to their family members and friends in order to help them NETWORK over Winter Break.

Students will receive updates and preparation instructions through Advisory starting Spring semester.

• Students now have instructions for HOW TO SCHEDULE their job shadow.
• Here are the GUIDELINES and EXPECTATIONS that students should read and will give to the professional they are shadowing
• PREPARING FOR YOUR JOB SHADOW (WHAT TO WEAR, HOW TO ACT, and WHAT YOU WILL NEED)

To turn in after your Job Shadow

• Submit your Career Interview and signed Checklist
• Don’t forget to take a picture to post during PoWeR Week!
